Reading Books Adds Up Two More Years to Your Life, Study Says

Like how Blueberries  lengthen the age of the memory by two years, reading books can also lengthen life by two years according to a study. I love reading and blueberries, so that means an additional four kicking years!

The study suggests that reading books can give an average addition of 2 years into your life span. The claim is taken from the data attained from the 3,500 people who represented the sample for the larger health study. They were 50 years of age and were able to answer specific questions about reading. The researchers carried on with the study by categorizing the sample into three: the non-reading group, the reading group that just read three and a half hours per week, and the reading group who read on longer hours.

Considering the controlling factors such as gender, income, race, and education, the researchers found out that those who have three and a half hours per week were 17 percent less likely to die over 12 years of follow up while those who were reading more than that were 23 percent less likely to die.

In line with this study was another that was published in the Economic Journal, which said that children having access with books are more likely to expect higher adult income. Nonetheless today, kids are overly into gadgets and how I wish they are reading e-books at least!

With the emerging power of technology in the lives of the kids today, how can adults and even kids get engaged to reading? It is also a matter of using the lives of the "reading group" as a whole to encourage the world to read as how they do. There are surely a lot of interesting topics vastly made available to cater to different people. Schools also should not be lazy or get intimidated to lose kids' interest. There must be a lot of ways to do this.
