'Roswell' Actress Shiri Appleby Pregnant with First Child

Actress Shiri Appleby is pregnant. This is the first child for the "Roswell" star with fiancé, Chef Jon Shook.

The proud mom-to-be confirmed the news on Facebook.

"Thank you for all the well wishes! We can't wait to meet our little Baby Shook!"  she wrote. 

The baby is due in spring. Appleby got engaged to her boyfriend of two years in July.

Congratulatory messages from well-wishers from different parts of the world have been pouring into her Facebook account since then.

"So, you were pretending to be pregnant on Chicago Fire, while actually being pregnant?  Congratulations," one of her fans wrote, Congrats!! BTW Roswell is my Fav TV show!!!" another one added.

However, the overjoyed couple is planning to keep gender of their unborn baby a surprise.

"He really wanted to do it and it sounded like fun," the actress told Us Weekly, referring to her fiancé's decision not to learn their baby's sex. "It's really made the whole pregnancy a heightened excitement because you just don't know what it's going to be!"

During the chat, Appleby said her pregnancy has been pretty smooth.

"Thank God, knock on wood, I've had a really easy pregnancy," Appleby told Us Weekly. "I've been working out a lot just because it feels good. And I've loved it, you get to eat as many breads and pastas as you want and don't gain weight. It's been great!"

The expecting parents reported enjoying each and everything about their impending parenthood.

"Right now he's really excited," Appleby said. while referring about Shook. "He felt the baby kick the other day for the first time and we went to that really fun, five-month check-up where you see the baby in 3D and we were just laughing our heads off the whole time. It's just so much fun."

Appleby, who started acting at the age of four, has appeared in "Cheerios" and "M&M" advertisements.  Apart from television series and films, she has also acted in music videos.
