"The Walking Dead" Season 7 will bring viewers back not just into the clutches of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and The Saviours but also into the pages of "Richonne." As interesting as Negan and his villainy are, fans yet to settle comfortably into the romance that developed between Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) in "The Walking Dead" Season 7.

Perhaps what made "Richonne" a shocker for "The Walking Dead" fans is the effective portrayal by Michonne of a woman in a shell who needs no one, least of all self-appointed hero Rick Grimes. However for Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, "Richonne" was a natural progression for Rick Grimes and Michonne as People reports.

  In an art imitates life moment, Andrew Lincoln admitted to making the realization of "Richonne" at the same time as Rick Grimes did. As "The Walking Dead" star shared, upon learning that Rick Grimes and Michonne will organically move into a twosome, Andrew Lincoln realized that "Richonne" had been staring him in the face the whole time.

Danai Gurira proposed that Michonne may have been in love with Rick Grimes a long time before "Richonne" happened. However, "The Walking Dead" badass had been too busy convincing herself she felt nothing until Alexandria began to thaw away at her in Season 5.

For Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira "Richonne" became official when Rick Grimes gave Michonne the mints in "The Walking Dead" Season 6. "That's kind of that, 'Oh my god that's so sweet' moment - but apocalypse-style," Danai Gurira said.
