Premier League News & Transfers: Paul Pogba Returns To Manchester United After Signing Record-Breaking Deal

After 4 years and over £100 million, French football star Paul Pogba, returns home to Old Trafford after successfully re-signing with Manchester United. Pogba left the English team back in 2012 and played for the Italian side Juventus FC where he won 4 titles in the Italian Serie A.

Rumors over the summer of the 23-year-old Frenchman's return to the Premier League in Manchester United, has circulated around the football world, with many doubting that the record-breaking transfer would not come through. Pogba silenced all speculation after signing the deal.

According to BBC Sports, Manchester United will pay Juventus £105 million for the transfer plus another £4.5 million for performance related bonuses. This breaks the former record set by Gareth Bale's transfer to Real Madrid from his former team, Tottenham Hotspur, worth over £100 million.

Paul Pogba will also become the highest paid player not only for the Manchester United squad but also the entire English Premier League, earning over £290,000 a week. This puts him ahead of Wayne Rooney, the long-time captain of United, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the latest acquisition of "The Red Devils," according to the Daily Mail.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Juventus and have some fantastic memories of a great club with players that I count as friends, but I feel the time is right to go back to Old Trafford," Pogba said about his return to the Premier League's most notable pitch. "I always enjoyed playing in front of the fans and can't wait to make my contribution to the team."

Pogba, who is excited to once again don the Manchester United Red, will wear the number 6 on his jersey, Sky Sports reported. Pogba, Rooney, and Ibrahimovic, under one of football's most educated mind in team manager Jose Mourinho, will seek to bring Manchester United back to the top of the Premier League after years of falling out of the championship contention.

Paul Pogba will soon make his Manchester United return debut, as the Barclays Premier League is set to start on August 13.
