Motherhood Doesn't Cramp Nicole Richie's Style

Nicole Richie is ready to compromise anything for motherhood, except her unique style.  

The 31-year-old actress has two children with husband Joel Madden; four-year-old daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden and three-year-old son Sparrow James Midnight Madden.

During a chat with People magazine recently, Richie revealed how she maintains her sense of style even during her busy schedule as a working mother.

"I wear all the same [types of] things I wore [before motherhood]. I'll always stay true to me," she said.

The revelation comes at a time when most of the celebrity moms point fingers at motherhood for bringing remarkable changes in their style.

Not surprising, Richie gives preference to "comfort" while selecting a dress.

"I get up at 5:30 in the morning and I don't really stop for anything until about 7 or 8 at night," she said. "I'm going all day so it's important for me, for my lifestyle, to kind of just be comfortable and not really think about what I'm wearing. I've always been one to dress for comfort. Sometimes I look great, sometimes I look like I got ready in 15 minutes."

Richie recommends mothers to dress up according to their body.

"The best fashion advice I've ever received is to be yourself, not pay attention to trends, know your body and know how to express yourself," she said.

Richie started dating lead singer of "Good Charlotte," Madden in 2006. The couple tied the knot in December 2010. Richie, who was adopted by singer/actor Lionel Richie at age nine, shot to fame with her role in the Fox reality TV series "The Simple Life."
