NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics About To Sign J.R. Smith And Monta Ellis To Achieve Shooting Priority?

J.R. Smith is on the free agency market today and many are wondering what jersey will be wearing in the next NBA season. Reports have it that Boston Celtics might sign the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard along with the Indiana Pacers shooting guard and point guard Monta Ellis.

Boston Celtics wants to give a good fight in the Eastern Conference in the upcoming NBA season. Thus, they are working on improving their roster. Reports are rife that they will soon sign the shooting guards J.R. Smith and Monta Ellis because they want to improve their shooting this NBA season.

Boston Celtics head coach Brad Steven told ESPN that their goal this NBA season is shooting. Clearly, they want to score more. In view of this, Chatt Sports Net suggested that Celtics will sign J.R. Smith and Monta Ellis.

Although adding J.R. Smith and Monta Ellis in Boston Celtics will likely improve the team's chance at shooting, it seems that Brad Steven has his own basketball mantra that he doesn't want to break. Parent Herald previously reported that Brad will not take a chance on Smith because he has the tendency to be aggressive.

In fact, in the previous NBA season, J.R. Smith was involved in a chippy game with Celtics small forward Jae Crowder. If ever Boston will indeed sign Smith many are looking forward to seeing Crowder and Smith's chemistry on the basketball court when they are running mates.

Meanwhile, Celtics will not have issues in acquiring Monta Ellis because Indiana Pacers is ready to trade their shooting guard. In fact, Parent Herald previously reported that Pacers has been trading Ellis but got no response from the other NBA teams.

If Celtics decline J.R. Smith, signing Monta Ellis would be a smart choice. However, signing both is better given their shooting priority.

Will Boston Celtics sign J.R. Smith and Monta Ellis for the next NBA season? Do you agree that both will improve the team's shooting? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
