‘Pokemon Go’ Tips & Tricks: After Tracker System Gets Beta Testing Update, Tips For Finding Pokemon Once It Rolls Out

The tracker system of "Pokemon Go" had a beta testing update for both iOS and Android marking the first major update for the game. The update was revealed on Wednesday and gamers took to Twitter and Reddit to talk about the new tracking system as well as giving tips on how to catch monsters given the changes.

One of the major and puzzling changes for the tracker system of "Pokemon Go" is the subset feature called "sightings." These sightings show the image of a Pokemon character on a small patch of grass. International Business Times reported that this basically means a monster is nearby, however, it does not reveal how close the monster is. The marker also does not indicate if you are close to where the monster is.

In order to try and find where exactly the monster is, "Pokemon Go" players would have to try and walk different directions. Although there are no indications where exactly the monster is, the new tracker system will let the icon disappear if the player is not walking towards the character. If the icon disappears, the person has to go back to where the icon appeared then try to walk in another direction.

Another notable change is the "nearby" section of the "Pokemon Go" app. A Pokemon that appears in this menu means that it is in the PokeStop. Once the "nearby" section is tapped, it will show the exact area where "Pokemon Go" players could find the monster, Droid Life reported.

The updated tracking system for "Pokemon Go" comes after many have complained about the "three-step" glitch. The problem frustrated many of the players because Pokemons were constantly showed to be just three steps away although the monster is not. Since the update is still in beta testing, it is not yet available to everyone but most players will get to try it out soon.
