'Avatar 2' Spoilers & Update: 'Avatar' Sequel To Focus On Stephen Lang's Character Col. Miles Quaritch

"Avatar" fans are yearning for the film's sequel. It has been over six years since the first film was released but "Avatar 2" is still in the works. Despite the long wait, the hype about "Avatar 2" remains. Reports have it that casting is still not final. There are potential replacements and rearrangement for the main roles.

According to Master Herald, "Avatar 2" will focus on Col. Miles Quaritch. Many thought that the character died in the first "Avatar" film after Neytiri shot him twice with an arrow on his chest. However, the film has a science-fiction nature, which makes it possible for director James Cameron to bring any dead character again.

In fact, Parent Herald previously reported that Dr. Grace Augustine will also return in "Avatar 2." Sigourney Weaver who played the role of Dr. Augustine did a great job in the first film and many wanted to see more of her in "Avatar 2."

Back to Col. Miles Quaritch, James Cameron told Deadline that Stephen Lang's character is close to "Star War's" Darth Vader and Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Terminator." Cameron was so impressed with Lang's performance that he requested him to return in "Avatar 2" and in the remaining three "Avatar" sequels.

James Cameron teases that in "Avatar 2" and the rest of "Avatar" sequels, Stephen Lang's character will evolve into "unexpected places across the arc" of the saga. He added that he is excited and privileged to have a talented actor such as Lang in the set.

Master Herald suggests that there is so much story to tell about Col. Miles Quaritch. Of course, having a villain taking the spotlight in "Avatar 2" is interesting enough. Despite Miles taking the lead in the "Avatar" sequel, Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) will still be part of the film and will remain as part of the main characters in the story.

Parent Herald previously reported that there will be a dark prison theme in "Avatar 2." The war will tear Jake and Neytiri apart. These will make things tougher for the pair, especially that "Avatar 2" spoilers suggest that they will be building their family in the sequel and will have kids on their own.

How do you feel about Col. Miles Quaritch being the center of the story in "Avatar 2?" Do you support it or do you want the story to still run around Neytiri and Jake Sully? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

"Avatar 2" is expected to hit the big screens in Dec. 2018.
