How Water Saves Pregnant Women From Pregnancy Symptoms and Its Discomforts

Drinking a gallon a day during pregnancy is just one of the greatest feats that women are up for, for 280 days. If you fail to do this, then you are more likely to expect hemorrhoids popping out and other pregnancy symptoms to pin you down.

Drinking water can be a real ordeal for some pregnant women especially for those who are not used to drinking a lot of water daily. One pregnant mom testifies and said that learning to drink more water gradually is a sure challenge but she does it for the sake of her baby's health. The truth is, water does not only help the baby but the mom as well.

Water is essential during pregnancy as it helps deliver essentials to the fetus to keep it healthy. It also helps you overcome fatigue and headache along with overheating and swelling. Oedema, dizziness, and cramps will also be avoided if you keep yourself hydrated well. On the other hand, you need to make sure that the water you drink is safe and clean.

Pregnant women may not only drink water as the only option for hydration. Hydration can also be supplied by through other drinks such as flavored waters and fruit and vegetable juices. However there is a need to always check the added sugar in fruit juices and sodium in veggie drinks. Decaffeinated teas are also good but you need to consider pasteurization, calorie info and other components of the drink that your doctor would suggest for you to keep away from.

Always make sure that you limit your intake of soda because it nothing but empty calories and also increases dehydration. The same warning goes for you for caffeine (coffee, tea, soda) intake because of its diuretic effect.

If you cannot drink a gallon per day, 8 to 12 glasses will be safe. But of course, your doctor knows best. It differs in every pregnancy case.
