'I Am Cait' News And Updates: First Docu-Series Starring Caitlyn Jenner No Longer Having Season 3, Former Olympian Confirms News On Twitter

E! has decided to no longer renew the first docu-series of Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce Jenner after his transformation to a woman, entitled "I Am Cait" for Season 3. The news was confirmed by Jenner herself on her Twitter account.

Jenner took to Twitter to talk about the matter saying, "After 2 amazing seasons of @IAmCait, it's time for the next adventure. Thank you E! & thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for!" The docu-series was produced after she transformed from a man to a woman. In the two seasons, Jenner went on a cross-state adventure to talk about being a transgender. Along with her are other transgender women friends.

The Hollywood Reporter shared that cancellation rumors about "I Am Cait" started to make rounds online earlier this month and E! has released a statement to also confirm it. A spokesperson shared that they are incredibly proud of the two season of "I Am Cait" coining it as a groundbreaking docuseries that has sparked "important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles, and triumphs."

The spokesperson continued to say that Jenner and E! have mutually decided not to renew "I Am Cait" for another season for the time being. The spokesperson assured that fans will still get to see Jenner as she will be appearing on the reality show of her family, which is "Keeping Up With The Kardashians."

According to other reports, "I Am Cait" had to be canceled because of its low ratings. E! has not revealed the specific reason for not renewing the docu-series for a third season, but The New York Times shared that "I Am Cait" was canceled because of the poor ratings. The show premiered last July 2015 after she revealed on April 2015 that she is a transgender and has not fared well when it came to the ratings game. Jenner appearing on different shows such as her interview with Diane Sawyer for ABC and her ESPN's ESPY award ceremony garnered record-breaking number of viewers.

However, ratings for "I Am Cait" were not as high as compared to her appearances in other shows. The premier of the show had 2.7 million viewers but declined since then. The second season's premiere recorded only 750,000 viewers.

"Keeping Up With The Kardashians" is now on its 12th season but it is unclear for how many episodes will Jenner be appearing. The show also has another spinoff series entitled "Rob & Chyna," which is set to debut later this year.
