Zooey Deschanel Baby & Fiance: Actress Sells House Hollywood Hills Home

"New Girl" television star Zooey Deschanel has put her Hollywood Hills home up for sale. The house, which once belonged to "Avengers" star Mark Ruffallo, is being listed at $2.195 million, reported Variety, and sits in the Cahuenga Pass in the area. The report further says that the digs, described as a 1930s ranch house, was bought by Deschanel back in 2009 for just $1.65 million.

The actress and her fiancé, Jacob Pechnenick, a Hollywood producer, are expecting the arrival of their first baby at the end of summer. They decided to move into a bigger place, hence the listing. They recently bought a new property in anticipation of their growing family and it is located at a quiet Manhattan Beach neighborhood. The new home has a reported value of $4.5 million.

The couple will be leaving behind a house that is featured with three bedrooms and three bathrooms plus a powder room. Set in a half-acre lot, the cottage is decked with green plaid wallpaper and florals, according to US Weekly. The rest of the interiors are filled with bold colors but the house surprisingly looks conventional for an actress usually associated with quirkiness. The only factor that stand out is the existence of a home gym, which still looks pretty basic and simple compared to other Hollywood homes.

Deschanel, 35, and Pechenick, 42, announced they were having a baby in January, and their engagement came soon after. The couple relayed that they are not going to find out the gender of the baby. "We are gonna be surprised. It's more fun. Make it into a game!" the actress happily said while being interviewed on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show.

The soon-to-be-parents' new house in Manhattan Beach is twice the size of their Hollywood Hills home. It features six bedrooms and six baths as well as a large backyard that is perfect for kids to play and run around, as reported by Refinery. Described as a "quasi-Cape Cod/colonial-style" house, the complex has a court and swimming pool, apart from a lovely view of the hills. The whole property sits on a 5166-square-foot lot.

Zooey and Jacob met in 2014 while working together in the movie "Rock The Kasbah." The film is about a washed-up manager who makes a big discovery of a girl with a great singing voice and also starred Bruce Willis and Kate Hudson.

Deshanel was previously married to Ben Gibbard, the lead singer of "Death Cab for Cutie." They divorced in 2012.
