Latest NBA Trade Rumors: NY Knicks Signing Memphis Grizzlies' Lance Stephenson For One-Year Minimum Deal To Stop Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James?

New York Knicks is reportedly looking for a LeBron James stopper and the player that they are eyeing is Lance Stephenson. However, the deal might just be a minimum one as they might have him for only one year.

Twenty-five-year-old shooting guard Stephenson is reportedly the possible player that will revive the legacy of the New York Knicks. Sportsrageous reported that the New York Knicks is now dreaming of becoming a title contender for the upcoming 2016-2017 NBA season since their last appearance was during the 2012-2013 Eastern Conference playoffs. During that time, they lost to the Indiana Pacers.

New York Knicks recently acquired Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls and the team is now looking to rebuild their team. That then means Stephenson would be an additional player to try and build a great roster for the New York Knicks if they want to make a mark this 2016-2017 NBA season.

New York Knicks also recently added Brandon Jennings, Courtney Lee, and Joakim Noah. For the one-year minimum deal with Stephenson, it might be a good move since he averaged 14.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists during last season when he played for the Memphis Grizzlies.

Chatt Sports Net reported that although New York Knicks already have a number of newcomers, they really want Stephenson. He has played for the Charlotte Hornets and the Los Angeles Clippers in the past and has proven that he has been a great contributor especially when he started playing for the Memphis Grizzlies. His offensive versatility is reportedly an asset that the New York Knicks is interested in.

However, other teams have been adamant in signing Stephenson due to his inconsistencies such as over-dribbling and disrupting ball movement. He is known to be a bad boy in court and New York Knicks have to make it clear with Stephenson that they do not want that as it might hurt their chances to make a name once again in the upcoming 2016-2017 NBA season.
