Halle Berry's Daughter Nahla Helps Kids in Need With Lemonade Stand

Halle Berry's seven-year-old daughter, Nahla, takes time to care for those in need. The actress could not be prouder by having a kind-hearted and generous kid. "I'm so proud of her," she said, "It's important to teach your children about caring for children."

Halle and Nahla were on a trip in Nicaragua sponsored by the World Food Program not too long ago, according to People. The actress revealed that her daughter witnessed many kids who lived in poverty during the trip.

"This year, I went to Nicaragua and I took my now seven-year-old daughter Nahla with me," she shared. "And during that trip, what I realized as a parent is it's my responsibility to teach children the importance of taking care of children."

The star's daughter was amazed to see these kids happy despite their situation. According to Halle, Nahla began to consider living frugally after seeing other kids living the hard life overseas. Halle shared, "She [Nahla] started to think, 'Well, I don't need two bikes do I? Wow, I don't need 15 American Girl dolls, do I? No.'"

Nahla felt the need to do something nice for those who were not as fortunate as her, according to mom. Hence, the child sent some donated items to poverty-stricken kids in the African country to show love and compassion. A bike and some dolls were among the things Nahla donated to the children in need. Moreover, Nahla now even sells lemonade twice a month to raise funds for poor kids.

Meanwhile, Nahla's famous mom and her actress colleague, Goldie Hawn, were among the attendees of The Kaleidoscope Ball on Saturday at Culver City, California, according toVariety.com. The event was held to raise funds for The UCLA Children's Discovery and Mattel Children's Hospital's The Innovation Institute.

"I'm here to support our children," Hawn said after awarding Halle with the Kaleidoscope award. "I'm doing a lot with my own foundation - the Hawn foundation - which also helps children. So there's a real connectivity there."

Halle credited her kids for motivating her to reach out to those in need. After accepting the award, the actress said, "I know - as a mother of two now - how important children are. And they are the most important, the most vulnerable, the most valuable assets that we have on our planet."

Halle donned on a gorgeous wintergreen gown at the said event, as reported in Daily Mail.
