Ryan Murphy is a new father. The "Glee" creator and his partner and photographer David Miller welcomed a baby boy at 9:47 a.m. on Christmas Eve.

The couple named their first child Logan Phineas Miller Murphy. Baby Logan weighed 6.6 pounds and measured 21 inches, E! News reported.

The proud parents shared their happiness with family and friends through an email announcement on Monday.

"Logan Phineas Miller Murphy, Born December 24, 2012 9:47 a.m.," they wrote, according to E!News.

The baby announcement also reportedly contained an adorable photo of baby Logan wrapped in a Christmas stocking.

Murphy, well-known for creating or co-creating television series "Popular", "American Horror Story" and "The New Normal", started his career as a journalist. He's worked for The Miami Herald, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Daily News and Entertainment Weekly.

Murphy married Miller in July. Murphy expressed his wish to start a family during an interview with Vogue magazine in September.

"I thought if I don't do this ... I'm 46 ... I will really, really regret it," Us Weekly quoted Murphy telling Vogue. "I want the kid to be bold. And I have a lot of preparation, dealing with these actors. [They're like,] 'Really? F--k you. I'm going to do the opposite of what you want.' But I realize, you just have to let go or you're screwed."
