‘Pokemon GO’ Gym Battle Guide, Tips: Niantic Update Adds Advantage For Pokemon Trainers? Find Out Here.

Niantic Labs added a "Pokemon GO" update, the Pokemon Appraisal, which should make gym battle among trainers much more interesting. As it is, knowing Pokemon CP (Combat Point), HP (Hit Point) and IV (Individual Value) are the Pokemon trainers' best tools in "Pokemon GO" gym battles.

According to GameSpot, the Pokemon Appraisal update allows "Pokemon GO" players to have the details of Pokemon attack and defense capabilities readily on hand. However, the media outlet highlights that the Pokemon Appraisal update is only available to "Pokemon GO" players on two conditions.

The "Pokemon GO" player must have reached, at least, level five. The "Pokemon GO" player must also already have chosen from among the Pokemon trainer teams: Team Valour, Team Mystic or Team Instinct.

The "Pokemon GO" Pokemon Appraisal Update should sort out difficulties among trainers in the past in calculating Pokemon IV. These Pokemon IV details are important to a "Pokemon GO" player as these indicate the stamina, defense and attack capabilities of a Pokemon.

The Pokemon Appraisal update, however, merely provides a general view of the Pokemon IV rather than the numbers attached to the Individual Value. On the whole, with Pokemon Appraisal update the Professor advises the "Pokemon GO" player if the Pokemon is best for attack or defense.

This means, "Pokemon GO" players would still need to hone up on Pokemon knowledge to device better gym battle tactics. As Trusted Reviews points out, know-how on Pokemon types and their elements is key to assessing "Pokemon GO" gym battle roster potency.

The media outlet reminds that "Pokemon GO" players can check out the competition's gym battle roster by swiping the game screen left or right to display the rival Pokemon. Skillful use of Pokemon Stardust and Pokemon Candies to enhance Pokemon CP, and perfecting dodge and attack timing are also strong tools to use before and during a "Pokemon GO" gym battle.

GameSpot further highlights that Niantic Labs also incorporated in the update fixes on bots that a number of "Pokemon GO" players may use to "illegally" enhance gameplay and performance. Niantic Labs reportedly promises that more new features will be part of coming "Pokemon GO" updates in the near future.
