‘General Hospital’ Cast & Spoilers: Matt Cohen Lands Primetime Role; Will He Leave GH? Chloe Lanier Is Sticking Around

"General Hospital" star Matt Cohen has been cast for a recurring role in "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" Season 2. Will he leave the daytime soap? Meanwhile, Chloe Lanier dishes she will be around Port Charles for quite a while.

Matt Cohen, who plays Griffin on ABC's "General Hospital," has been cast as IRU team leader Jack Garrett's son, Ryan, TVLine reported. Ryan wants to follow his father's footsteps by becoming a top FBI agent himself. As of now, no words yet as to whether Cohen will leave the daytime soap as he embarks in this opportunity, so that's something to watch out for. He will debut in the premiere episode of "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders" when it airs later in 2017.

Meanwhile, "General Hospital" newcomer Chloe Lanier reveals that her character, Nelle, is going to stick around Port Charles for some time, ABC Soaps In Depth reported. In a Twitter Q&A fans, the actress shared details about her stint in GH. When asked if she is going to be on for a short time only or become a permanent cast, she answered, "Nelle will be around for a while!"

Nelle Hayes came as a mysterious character, and as her stay in Port Charles prolongs, more revelations are coming out. Most recently, "General Hospital" spoilers via Celebrity Dirty Laundry tease that Nelle has a deeper connection with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), although no further details were revealed about that. Jax left the town because he was afraid that his secrets might be revealed, and rumors have it that what he's hiding may have something to do with Nelle's parents. Spoilers further tease that Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) could be Nelle's biological mother. More of that would be revealed in the near future, as Nelle has stayed in Port Charles.

"General Hospital" airs every Monday to Friday at 2:30 p.m. on ABC.
