NBA Trade News: Utah Jazz Sign Free Agent Quincy Ford

With the NBA Season about to begin, the Utah Jazz are making a few last minute additions to their roster. Their latest acquisition is 6-foot-8 guard/forward free agent, Quincy Ford, who played college basketball for the Northeaster Huskies.

The Utah Jazz now have a decent roster lined up for the NBA season, and now they have added another wing to their rotation with Quincy Ford. Ford, who was a free agent before being chosen to be a part of the Jazz's lineup for the 2016 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. During the Summer League, Ford averaged a decent 5.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, along with 1.0 assists over the course of 8 games, 5 of which, he started. In the Summer League, Ford recorded a personal scoring high of 10 points against New Orleans, and 12 rebounds in another game, according to Deseret News.

During his college basketball career, playing for the Northeastern Huskies, Ford averaged 12.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.4 steals, while playing a total of 130 games. Ford was also an All-Colonial Athletic Association Second Team Selection, but despite the productive college career numbers for Ford, he went underrated during the 2016 NBA Draft, according to Purple and Blues.

With the Utah Jazz already having a loaded guard and forward position, Ford's role will definitely be to come off the bench and give time for star players like Gordon Hayward to get some rest. While on the court, Ford's scoring ability will likely contribute to the Jazz's floor spacing. His height will also be an excellent boost for the Jazz's rebounding.

Quincy Ford will be donning the #17 purple and green jersey of the Utah Jazz in the upcoming NBA season, as the Jazz will go against the Portland Trail Blazers in their opening game on October 26.
