Kate Middleton Maternity Leave Almost Over; Duchess of Cambridge Resuming Royal Duties Next Month

Even members of the royal family can't go on leave forever. The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is said to be returning to attend to her duties by June, according to OK Magazine. First on her list is to be present at the birthday parade of Queen Elizabeth II on June 13.

Several weeks after giving birth to Princess Charlotte, Kate will have to cut short her maternity leave as ordered by the queen herself. A source revealed to OK that the queen believes Kate has had "more than enough time to take off before she should return to performing her royal duties."

"It's a huge public event, an incredible pageant carried out by the queen's personal troops. Kate will be on show for it, dressed up in a smart outfit, with the eyes of the world on her," added the source.

Kate was originally set to take a 39-day maternity leave but returning to her duties earlier than anticipated shouldn't be a problem. This is the woman who walked out of the hospital barely 12 hours after going into labor. Besides, she will have nothing to worry about regarding who will watch over Princess Charlotte and Prince George while she's doing her duties. Apart from their live-in nanny, Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, are always on hand and ready to assist the Duchess and Prince William whenever they need help.

The Duchess should be all set and more than prepared for her return. She's been taking care of her health quite well, too. She is getting her sustenance and boost from the juice and greens her sister, Pippa, introduced to her, according to US Magazine. Kate has also been shopping for organic food at a farm near her residence in Anmer Hall. The site reports there are only about 63 people in the area, so there's no one rushing towards the Duchess for a photo opportunity.

Meanwhile, Prince William long returned to his duties after a short paternity leave. On his first week away from his family, he flew to Switzerland to meet with his charity organization, the United for Wildlife movement. Last week, he was at the send-off for the women's soccer team, who will be competing at the FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada. He was also present at the awards ceremony for Members of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, as reported on Parent Herald earlier.
