NBA Free Agency News: The Memphis Grizzlies and The New York Knicks Are In Pursuit Of Kevin Martin

Kevin Martin is still unsigned with just a few weeks away from the NBA training camp. As of today, Kevin Martin is now linked to an NBA rumor with the Memphis Grizzlies and the New York Knicks.

A few months ago, 3 NBA teams were showing interest in acquiring the free agent Kevin Martin. As per Amico News, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls are the teams interested in Kevin Martin's shooting services.

Today, Kevin Martin is linked to the Memphis Grizzlies as per Fansided reported. Martin would be an upgrade for the Memphis Grizzlies as he would fill-in the spot vacated by Lance Stephenson.

In addition, Kevin Martin might be older than Lance Stephenson, by being a 33-year old veteran, it won't keep him away from scoring outside the 3-point line. A catch-and-shoot player, Kevin Martin is proven to be one of the premier shooting threat outside the arc.

Martin can still play as a starter with the Grizzlies though he would be a defensive liability. He can also blend with the 2nd unit, a sixth-man role would be a very nice option for the Grizzlies if Martin is acquired.

Another potential team for Kevin Martin according to Ecumenical News is the New York Knicks. It is obvious that the New York Knicks' current lineup doesn't have enough pure-shooter aside from Sasha Vujacic.

If Kevin Martin would be acquired by the Knicks, he would definitely fit with the Knicks' Triangle Offense. With Rose and Jennings, Martin can just simply run-and-pop to get his exact hot spot and shoot the ball. With a career 3-point average of 38%, Martin would be a very nice backup shooter for Courtney Lee.

Kevin Martin is one of the league's premier scorers, he led the Sacramento Kings to the Playoffs back in 2006, while being the main scoring option for nearly 5 years. Kevin Martin continued his explosiveness on the offensive end as he led the Houston Rockets in scoring for 3 straight years.
