Depression is one of the most common suicide triggers which highly affect individuals from all walks of life. One of the biggest conflicts when it comes to depression diagnosis, however, is the fact that other mental health disorders are mistaken as depression. People with bipolar disorders are often considered as depressed individuals as some would disregard their manic phase (wherein the individual may tend to engage in euphoric feelings/ extra happiness) and they would only see the depressive state of the person.

Diabetes could also be also be confused with depression as both illnesses share the same symptoms. People with Type 2 diabetes would experience fatigue and excessive, drastic weight loss, which can be mistaken for depression. The person with diabetes is also highly irritable which one of the underlying signs of depression.

The individual may experience these symptoms due to lack of insulin in the body, which can highly affect the person's overall wellness. It is often advised that people who doubt their depressive symptoms should go through a series of test so that proper diagnosis would be given.
