'Descendants of the Sun' Season 2 Real Life Couple Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo Not Returning?

After the success of "Descendants of the Sun," there have been rumors that "Descendants of the Sun" season 2 could be underway. With all the rumors circulating, fans begin to ask whether lead stars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo will be back to reprise their roles in the speculated sequel.

Fans of the show were recently sent into a frenzy when Hye-kyo posted a photo of her and "Descendants of the Sun" writer Kim Eun Sook. This spurred more rumors that the actress' meeting with the writer has something to do with "Descendants of the Sun" season 2.

Apart from "Descendants of the Sun" season 2, fans are also interested with Hye-kyo and Joong-ki's reported real life romance. During his acceptance speech at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2016, Joong-ki referred to Hye-kyo as the best partner after the latter sent the actor gifts while he was filming "Battleship Island," Yibada reported.

Meanwhile, there have been speculations that if "Descendants of the Sun" season 2 should get the green light, the show could actually have a new focus. Chattsportsnet speculated that Lieutenant Yoon Myung-Joo played by Kim Ji Won and Sergeant Seo Dae-young played by Jin Goo could be the show's new lead stars.

The site further mentioned that since "Descendants of the Sun" lead writer and director have recently resigned, this could actually be a factor for Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo to not be reconsidered for the sequel.
