NBA News And Rumors: Allen Iverson Heading To The Cleveland Cavaliers As Assistant Coach?; Tyronn Lue Invited Iverson To Coach

After being inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame, Allen Iverson seems to find his way to return to the NBA. Tyronn Lue was reportedly inviting Allen Iverson to coach the Cleveland Cavaliers with him.

In a press release held by Slam Online, a video footage with Tyronn Lue being interviewed by TMZ Sports was posted. Cleveland Cavaliers Head Coach Tyronn Lue was asked about Allen Iverson, he mentioned that they are good friends and even cited that Allen Iverson can come and coach with him.

During Allen Iverson's speech in the Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Iverson said that most of today's best coaches are former NBA point guards. And for most basketball analysts, it seemed Allen Iverson is hinting that he wants that kind of job.

We may recall during the 2001 NBA Finals that step-over thing that Allen Iverson did to Tyronn Lue after a devastating step-back crossover. Despite the drama within the Lakers - Sixers rivalry, Lue cited that didn't take it personally and they're like brothers as per the Vibe reported.

Allen Iverson was known as to be the nastiest point guard ever played in the NBA. His signature crossover dribbles have been famous since then until today.

Allen Iverson finished his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers with a career average of 26.7 points, 6.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game. Iverson led the Sixers to 6 NBA Playoffs appearance with 1 NBA Finals during his greatest year back in 2001 where Iverson also won the NBA MVP award.

Iverson is a smart playmaker, he knows where to go, when to pass and what to do when caught up in tight scenario. His intelligence can be a big contribution to the coaching staff for the Cleveland Cavaliers while he can also mentor young players like Kyrie Irving.

He might be called a ball hogger during his stint in the NBA, but let's not forget that Iverson is a go-to-guy player, a player that a coach could count on offense. No wonder, fans would love to see Allen Iverson wearing a suit each night, sitting on the bench of the Cleveland Cavaliers as an assistant coach.
