‘Pitch’ Air Date, Latest News & Update: Kylie Bunbury Will Get You Hook With Fox New Baseball Drama

The new TV series from Fox "Pitch" has most viewers talking. The first woman to ever enter the major baseball league has now hit the screen. However, the potential of the storyline is still undecided as it will fall with the creativity of the writers.

Kylie Bunbury as Ginny Baker, the lead actress for "Pitch" has never thrown a baseball until she joined the much anticipated new drama. While she was quite athletic as she mostly played basketball, soccer and running track, pitching is mostly new for her, according to The Wall Street Journal.

'I'm athletic, but my body wasn't used to moving in that way," Bunbury says. "So I had two and a half months to learn before the pilot."

In the first episode of "Pitch," Ginny Baker was called from the minor league to fill the fifth spot in the San Diego Padre's rotation. Episode one will also include more of the backstory of Ginny and how her father Michael Beach was a constant coach for her. Teaching Ginny not to give up and how to throw a nasty screwball that will eventually lead her to the major league.

"Pitch" shows the struggle of the first ever female pitcher for the major league that she will not get from her father but from her manager and those who surrounds and watch her as well. She will find friends though from Mike Lawson and Mark-Paul Gosselaar from the Padres clubhouse who would help her in the trials ahead, Showbiz Junkies reported.

Ginny,of course, will find greatness in "Pitch" as the trailer also said "A true story on the verge of happening." "Pitch" has a very interesting storyline and Fox may be able to get this into a home run if they do this right.

"Pitch" will premiere on Sept. 22, 2016, at 9:00 PM PT/ET on Fox.
