‘The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild,’ Nintendo NX Release Date Leaked By Amiibo

The long awaited next installment in "The Legend of Zelda" series, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild," and the Nintendo NX might finally now have a release date based on the details of the amiibo figurines set to be sold for the game.

Gamespot reported that Reddit user DalekCydonia first posted the news on the community website, citing a post by the European branch of Nintendo of the amiibo figures for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." The date when the amiibo figures will launch was included in the post, which is at least a strong indicator of the window for both the Nintendo NX and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" release dates.

DalekCydonia started a thread on the Reddit subsection for the ever mysterious Nintendo NX. The thread's title indicated the possible release of "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and the Nintendo NX might have been accidentally revealed by Nintendo UK, with the opening post including a screenshot of a posting for a "Link (archer)" figure with the figure's release date indicated as March 4, 2017.

As is wont for any such accidents, the amiibo section on the Nintendo UK has since been changed; the "Link (archer)" figure and the "Link (Rider)," figure which also carried the March 4 date, are now dated simply as 2017. At any rate, the sudden cleanup suggests some validity to the prospect of the amiibo dates signifying the "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" and Nintendo NX release dates.

It should be noted it is still strongly possible that the amiibo figures' release date could only imply the date for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" itself, and not the possible release of the Nintendo NX console. "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" was announced as coming to both the NX and the current-generation Wii U, which could mean the March release date window could just be for the Wii U version.
