Reasons to Get a Playstation 4 Pro, Not an Xbox One S

The console gaming war between Sony's Playstation and Microsoft's Xbox is set for new technological heights, and while fans are torn apart between the two, here are a few reasons why players should get a Playstation 4 Pro, and not the smaller Xbox One S for 4K gaming.

The Playstation 4 Pro was unveiled earlier this year, along with the sleeker and smaller upgrade to the Playstation 4, the PS4 Slim, while Microsoft chose to wait and see what their rival brought to the table. Although Microsoft previously stated that their new project could best the PS4 Pro, called the Project Scorpio, the new Xbox console won't be available until 2017.

Now, as the holidays draw closer, Forbes gave a couple of reasons why players should switch to Sony's side, and get the Playstation 4 Pro, instead of the Xbox One S, if they want the latest tech in console gaming in time for Christmas.

While there is a $100 price difference between the two consoles, the PS4 Pro is without a doubt the more powerful machine, compared to the smaller Xbox One S, as the PS4 Pro boasts 4.14 teraflops, compares to the Xbox One S's 1.32, making it hands down, faster. For virtual reality, the Playstation VR is already on it's way, and will only be compatible with the new Playstation.

In terms of 4K gaming, both consoles claim that they will provide 4K gaming resolution, but the Xbox One S doesn't fundamentally change it's games, and instead only upscales the resolution in the most rudimentary form. The PS4 Pro, on the other hand, upscales the resolution via software side-programming, and older games would require patch work in order to achieve the standard of the console.

Sony's Playstation has the better exclusive games. "The Last Of Us" and "God of War" should be enough to support that claim, and get you to switch over to the Playstation 4 Pro. Lastly, the Playstation 4 Pro will definitely be the latest in Sony's line of consoles for years to come, and getting an Xbox One S while it's older brother, the Project Scorpio on it's way, just seems impractical.

While the Xbox One S is indeed better than it's small Playstation counterpart, the PS4 Slim, according to Tech Times, it doesn't really hold a candle to the Pro.
