Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt Divorce: Marion Cotillard the Real Reason Behind Couple’s Split?

One of the iconic and looked-up-to marriage in Hollywood is no more: Angelina Jolie just filed a divorce from Brad Pitt. Since then, it has taken the Internet by storm.

Fans and even actors were shocked by what happened and the only thing that popped up was a question: Why? Why so sudden? Brangelina was thought to be one of the most perfect marriage. They were married for two years but has been with each other for 12 years.

The actress must have thought about this really hard because the decision would shatter not only their married life but also their children's lives. As with any divorce case, the children are to suffer the most. The Pitt family's eldest child is only 15 and the youngest, 8.  

"I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids," Brad Pitt said to E! News. Rumors spreading said there was a third party involved, naming "The Dark Knight Rises" actress Marion Cotillard, according to Celeb Dirty Laundry.

Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard were rumoured to be getting a little comfortable on the set of their movie, "Allied." Other reports also say it is Brad Pitt's midlife crisis, which got him partying and acting single, and lifestyle that triggered his wife's drastic decision. While others would go as far as saying that Marion Cotillard is pregnant with Brad Pitt's child.

The "Salt" actress' lawyer, Robert Offer, said on Tuesday that the decision was "for the health of the family," according to the Associated Press. The "Girl Interrupted" actress is seeking custody of their six children, namely twin Knox and Vivienne, Shiloh, Zahara, Pax and Maddox, and for the "World War Z" actor only visitation rights.

Both asked for privacy from the press as they face a hard time. The two starred in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," an action-packed movie. Angelina Jolie is known for "Maleficent," "Lara Croft Tomb Raider," and "The Tourist." Brad Pitt's movies include "Benjamin Button," "Fury," and "The Big Short."

Angelina Jolie's previous hubbies were Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton, while Brad Pitt was previously wed to Jennifer Aniston. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt both starred in "By the Sea," which was released last year.
