With the release date for "Gears of War 4" inching ever closer and closer, hardcore "Gears of War" series fans and third person shooter aficionados are getting antsier by the minute for more details about the game with some new information indicating that preloads for the game will come early.
Adam Fletcher, the Director of Community for The Coalition and manager of the "Gears of War forums, recently took to Twitter to answer the apparently burgeoning questions regarding preloads for the upcoming "Gears of War 4," as reported by Gamespot. Presumably, a number of players are concerned if they will have to the opportunity to play the game right off the bat when it unlocks.
It seems that in his efforts to manage the "Gears of War" community forums, Fletcher constantly comes across users asking about the pre-load schedule for "Gears of War 4." While not giving anything specific, only saying that they "will have news on that soon," Fletcher did promise that players "will have plenty of time to preload."
The concerns regarding the game are unsurprising, considering the file for the PC version of "Gears of War 4" requires a massive 80 GB of hard drive space. Furthermore, some maybe asking about the game's preload due to the fact that "Gears of War 4 Ultimate Edition," which retails for about $100, will allow premium spenders to play the game 4 days early; the early access period means that the game will at least unlock ahead of the Oct. 11 release date.
There is also the reality that some video gamers do not have access to high Internet connection speeds, so having to download the 80 GB file size is more than a little disconcerting. Regarding this concern, Fletcher said that the size of "Gears of War 4" for the PC does not necessarily indicate the game's size on the Xbox One, strongly implying the version for the machine will likely consist of a smaller file size so a longer so Xbox One preloads could be better off.
