NBA Trade Rumors: DeMarcus Cousins And Rudy Gay Joining LeBron James In Cleveland Cavaliers?; Cavs-Kings Trade Will Help Re-Sign J.R. Smith?

Sacramento Kings, Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins will be parting ways soon. Since the NBA offseason kick starts, Cousins and Gay have been regulars in the NBA trading blocks and both players might soon find a new home court. According to the latest NBA trade buzz, Kings are trading Boogie and Gay to Cleveland Cavaliers.

Many believe that Cleveland Cavaliers are desperate to upgrade their roster to match Golden State Warriors' ideal lineup. The Warriors just acquired Kevin Durant, which many believe is a great addition to the team. Durant's inclusion to GSW makes Cavs' chances of winning another NBA title slim.

Per Digital Journal, Cleveland Cavaliers could trade for DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay in exchange for Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love. If this trade will be pursued, Boogie and Rudy Gay might still end up playing together but this time for Cavs.

Parent Herald previously reported that Rudy Gay is also linked to Cleveland Cavaliers. Reports have it that instead of sending Gay to Los Angeles Lakers for Nick Young and Lou Williams, they would trade him to Cavs instead for Iman Shumpert and Channing Frye.

Per Sports Blog, acquiring Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins for Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson would suffice. It would help Cleveland Cavaliers big time. Cavs would not only match Golden State Warriors ideal roster including Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green but even surpass it.

In addition to this, having Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins in exchange for Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson would give Cleveland Cavaliers six million dollars less on the payroll. This gives the team enough budget to cater J.R. Smith's demand for a $15 million deal.

Cleveland Cavaliers offered J.R. Smith a $10 million deal but trading with Kings will allow them to afford the additional $5 million deal that Smith wants to re-sign. Meanwhile, this will give LeBron James another season to play with Smith. The King already expressed his interest in having Smith re-sign with Cavs.

If this trade will be pushed, we will see a new lineup for Cleveland Cavaliers. Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins will now be playing alongside LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and J.R. Smith.
