MacBook Pro and MacBook Air 2016 to Run On Intel Kaby Lake? October Launch Underway

While Apple's flagship mobile device has arrived, fans are hoping that the Cupertino-based tech giant will make another announcement involving the reported MacBook Pro 2016. Rumors are now starting to claim that an October release date for the new computers could be in place.

It was previously speculated that the new MacBook Pro 2016 will formally replace the MacBook Air. However, a new report from Forbes claims that along with the release of the new Pro, tech junkies will also see the unveiling of the new Air.

As the publication noted, Director for Tablet and Notebook PCs at IHS Markit Technology, Rhoda Alexander, claimed that production for the new Apple laptops have already started. This reportedly includes the 13.3-inch and 15.4-inch MacBook Pro 2016 and the 13.3-inch MacBook Air 2016.

Alexander also clarified that given the timelines, it would be highly unlikely that the new computers will have Intel's Kaby Lake chips. Given this, the new MacBook Pro and Air 2016 will most likely run on Skylake, the publication speculated.

Previous rumors have suggested that an October MacBook Pro and Air 2016 release date will also feature other new released from Apple. Some of the rumored products reportedly lined-up for the event are the new iMac desktop and a new standalone monitor.

One of the highly anticipated features of the new MacBook Pro 2016 includes its thinner frame and the alleged OLED bar. As BGR previously noted, Trademark attorney Brian Conroy recently discovered some Apple trademarks that would confirm that the rumored OLED bar on the new computer will most likely push through.
