Rose Byrne’s Pregnancy Affected Her Bonding Time With ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Cast; Actress Still ‘In A Fog’

Rose Byrne was pregnant while she was filming Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse," which bowed in theaters in May 2016. The Australian actress admitted that her pregnancy affected her bonding time with the superhero film's cast.

Byrne recently told New Idea that she "couldn't really go out as much" at the time. She added, "I'd get tired, I couldn't drink -- but there's definite fun when this cast gets together."

Byrne and her partner, "Vinyl" star Bobby Cannavale, welcomed their son Rocco on Feb. 1 this year, Daily Mail reported. The 37-year-old actress is also stepmother to Jake, Cannavale's 21-year-old son from a past relationship with actress and screenwriter Jenny Lumet.

Byrne, who also starred in this year's "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising," said that her and Cannavale's friends are growing "sick" over their unceasing baby talk. Byrne said that raising a child entails shouldering a "huge responsibility you didn't have before," adding that "there's someone you have to keep alive," Sunday Style reported. Despite these challenges, Byrne believes that Rocco "brought out better qualities" in her.

Byrne said that motherhood made her sleep-deprived and "in a cocoon." She added that she's "still in a fog" and leaving the house with Rocco can be a struggle.

"It takes an hour and forty-five minutes to get out of the house with a baby, and by the time I'm ready, I'm exhausted. I'm done, I'm going back in. I don't care!" the "Bridesmaids" actress shared, as quoted by Daily Mail.

Even Byrne's good friend, actress Olivia Wilde, is also gushing about Rocco. Wilde, who has a 2-year-old son named Otis and is expecting a baby girl with Jason Sudeikis, told E! News that they are already planning for Otis and Rocco to be friends. "The four of us are going to force them to be friends so they might as well give into this arranged friendship," Wilde quipped, as quoted by the news outlet.

According to NY Daily News, Byrne and Cannavale, 46, started dating after the "Killing Them Softly" after party in November 2012. Cannavale confirmed their relationship during his Best Supporting Actor speech for his "Boardwalk Empire" role at the 2013 Emmy Awards, where he called Byrne as the "love of (his) life."

Byrne will star in the live-action/animated feature film "Peter Rabbit," Deadline reported. The Will Gluck-directed movie is Sony's Columbia Pictures' take on Beatrix Potter's 150-year-old children's classic book of the same name.

Byrne will portray Bea, while James Corden will voice Peter. Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki are also voice talents.
