Jared Padalecki Talks about Infant Son Thomas

Actor Jared Padalecki can't watch his son get sick. The 30-year-old "Supernatural" star recently talked to People magazine about his 9-month-old son Thomas Colton, and his fatherhood experiences.

Thomas is the first child of Padalecki with his wife and "Supernatural" co-star Genevieve Cortese. The couple, who tied the knot in February 2010, welcomed baby Thomas in March 2012.

"He just got sick for the first time. It's a really vulnerable feeling when your kid gets sick because you can't really do anything," he  told People at the People's Choice Awards last week. "You don't just want to pack them full of drugs and make them feel better, so you're kind of sitting there and he's congested."

Apart from that, the father often finds himself the reason behind his son's illness. 

"I'm congested too," the actor said. "That's another thing - I feel like I got him sick."

The star of "Gilmore Girls" fame feels relaxed only after the infant starts recovering. In his opinion, baby Thomas is more mature than other children of his age.

"It's really funny, because ... we've met a lot of new parents with little babies, and a lot of babies seem like babies, but he feels like he's kind of an old soul," Padalecki said. "He kind of looks at you and tries to figure you out, which is cool. I hope he's a mature kid."

Padalecki, who entered the film world with the film "A Little Inside", shot to fame with his role in the television series "Gilmore Girls" and films like "House of Wax".
