‘This Is Us’ Season 1 Episode 2 Recap: Character Relationships Explained; Episode 3 To Air At Different Show Time

"This is Us" Season 1 Episode 2 dealt with Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jake's (Milo Ventimiglia) marriage problems. The couple was seen struggling with raising their triplets while trying to be a husband and a wife to each other. Interestingly, "This is Us" second episode ended with an older Rebecca at Randall's (Sterling K. Brown) doorstep with someone who is not her husband but her husband's bestfriend, Miguel.

The second episode of "This is Us" revealed the struggles of Rebecca in rearing their children and being a wife to Jack. We saw her voice out the frustrations of having to look after their triplets on her own and do things for them equally. She rated their parenting styles as six from a scale of 10 and added that it may be seven if Jack was generous enough.

Meanwhile, in "This is Us" future, Randall's dilemma with his biological father, William (Ron Cephas Jones), continues as he cannot push his father out of their house. However, Randall's wife, Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson), became suspicious of William's action when he asked for money and did not specify where he was going.

As for Kevin and Kate, it was Kevin's turn to ask her sister for an advice on how to deal with his contractual obligations to stay with his show, The Man-ny. To recall, Kevin already made it public that he does not like being in the show. He was seen slamming and humiliating the show in front of a live audience in the previous episode of "This is Us." So, Kate advised Kevin to leave the show if that is what makes him happy.

Then "This is Us" continued with Kevin asking Kate to accompany him as his date for an affair but Kate was hesitant as she does not have anything to wear. So, she voiced out her frustrations to her support group where she told Toby (Chris Sullivan) that she does not want to attend her brother's party. However, Toby pleaded her to come.

"This is Us" Season 1 Episode 2 then went back to the past timeline here Jack was seen giving Rebecca a necklace and promised that he will change. Rebecca told him that she will not take the necklace off. However, the episode ended with the older Rebecca still wearing the necklace but she was not with Jack and was with Miguel instead. Where is Jack? Did they divorce? Or did Jack die?

"This is Us" Season 1 Episode 3 will return on Oct. 11 instead of Oct. 4. The show will also have a new time slot which will be at 9 p.m. on NBC.
