“The Walking Dead” Creator Does Not Want Series to End Like Comics

Creator of "The Walking Dead," Robert Kirkman, has made it clear that he doesn't want the hit television show version of his zombie apocalypse comic book to end the same way, as he plans on continuing with the comics long after the show is finished.

Kirkman made an appearance on AMC's "Geekin Out" with Kevin Smith and Greg Grunberg, he reveals that the comic book version will have an entirely different ending from the television one, as to not give fans any spoilers. Kirkman also says that he already knows how he wants the series to end but he won't reveal it to "The Walking Dead" director, Scott Gimple, because he doesn't want the ending to be on the TV series first, according to io9.

Kirkman added that he would have to sit down with Gimple, and pretend to not know anything on how to end the zombie adventures of Rick and his people, so that they would have to come up with a new way to end "The Walking Dead" for TV.

"The Walking Dead" TV show has already taken plenty of turns away from the comics, creating their own major plot lines, such as Glenn's survival, and the addition of Beth, who was never in the comics at all, according to Paste Magazine. Overall, the differences in the storylines make it a better fit for both TV and the comic book series.

In the upcoming season 6 of "The Walking Dead," it will finally be revealed who the new bad guy, Negan, beat with his barbed baseball bat. While the comics showed that Glenn was on the receiving end of Negan's wrath, the show might steer away and kill off another character, someone who hasn't grown on the fans as much as Glenn.

The new season of "The Walking Dead" will premier on October 23.
