Prince William's Birthday: Duke of Cambridge Turns 33 on Father's Day

While fathers in many parts of the world celebrated Father's Day last June 21, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, had an extra-special day. He was not only celebrating Father's Day for the second time this year, and with two children at that. He also turned 33-years-old.

Just over four years ago, the prince was adjusting to his life as a newly-married man, whom the public always saw as one of the late Princess Diana's little boys. But he's all grown-up now and with his amiable wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, and two gorgeous children, George, nearly two, and Charlotte, seven weeks, the prince is charting a picture-perfect life that people say Diana would be so proud of.

The family has chosen to settle in the quiet estate at Anmer Hall, where they plan to raise their children as normally as possible and away from the chaotic atmosphere at the Buckingham palace. While carrying out his duty as a royal, the prince has also chosen to keep a day job as an ambulance pilot. It looks like he would still like to earn his keep and set a good example for his son.

Last year, the prince celebrated Father's Day among friends and family at a charity polo match. It was where the public saw Prince George showing off that he has learned to walk, according to Hello Magazine.

While it's not yet known what the royals did for Father's Day and Prince William's birthday this year, they were most likely celebrating the private affair among family members. Hello reports that June 21 is also the 35th wedding anniversary of Michael and Carole Middleton, Princess Kate's parents, so there should really be plenty of reasons to have a merry gathering over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the prince and his wife, are reportedly spending a few weeks in New York next, according to OK! Magazine. The family intends to enjoy the summer in a rented house in Hamptons in Long Island. A source says this is something Prince William learned from his mother and perhaps would like to pass on to his children.

"Diana used to sit down with William and show him photographs of her travels, and she'd point out the exotic places she went on maps," the source revealed to OK! "She'd tell him that he should never settle for a life inside the palace walls, and that he must experience all that the world has to offer."
