Reports have it that Ian Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed don't want Nina Dobrev back, else the "Twilight" star will divorce Somerhalder. So, having Dobrev reprise her role as Katherine would be the best move to have the actress return in the series.

Per iTechPost, Paul Wesley teases about Nina Dobrev's return in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 on his social media account. In a photo, Wesley hinted about Katherine Pierce's return in Mystic Falls.

Meanwhile, for those wishing to see a closure in the Delena romance in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, chances are slim that you will see this in the plot of the final season. Ian Somerhalder has been so open about his lack of interest to work with Nina Dobrev for the Delena plot.

In a previous report, Ian Somerhalder admitted that he prefers to give "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 a brotherly ending. For the actor, it is best for Nina Dobrev's Elena to wake up without any memories of the two men who made her life miserable.

Again, in a recent interview with TVLine, Ian Somerhalder stressed how the Salvatore brothers ruined Elena's life. The actor implied that he can't understand why "TVD" fans want the main protagonist to reunite with either Damon or Stefan in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.
