‘Dynasty’ Reboot Coming to The CW: Where Are The Cast Now?

One of the most iconic series is being prepared for a comeback on the small screen. The CW is rebooting "Dynasty," bringing together creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage ("Gossip Girl") and writer-producer Sallie Patrick ("Revenge"), along with the original series' creators Esther Shapiro and Richard Shapiro.

As reported by Deadline, the primetime series "Dynasty," which ran from 1981 to 1989, is going to have a modern-day spin, written by Schwartz and Savage. The synopsis reads that the new series follows "two of America's wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children. The series will be told primarily through the perspectives of two women at odds: Fallon Carrington, daughter of billionaire Blake Carrington, and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal, a Hispanic woman marrying into this WASP family and America's most powerful class." The original series starred Dame Joan Collins alongside John Forsythe.

The cast of the new "Dynasty" are yet to be revealed. While waiting for that, the Daily Mail shared how the original cast members are doing now. Dame Joan Collins, 83, who played as Alexis Carrington, Blake's ex-wife, was married five times. Her longest marriage is with her fifth husband, whom she tied the knot with in 2002, 51-year-old Percy Gibson. Dame Joan currently has recurring roles as Crystal Hennessy-Vass in "Benidorm" and The Grand Duchess of Oxford in "The Royals."

Another famous name among the original "Dynasty" cast members is Heather Locklear. The now 55-year-old star played as Sammy Jo Carrington, which made her a household name. She currently appears in the TLC political drama "Too Close To Home." John James, on one hand, played Jeff Colby and was one of the stars who managed to stay on board from episode 1 until the series finale in 1989. As the publication noted, James starred in soaps, such as "All My Children" and "As The World Turns."
