Confirmed 'Gears of War' Movie Is In Development; Microsoft And Universal Pictures Joined Together

Microsoft's "Gear of War" franchise is about to hit the big screen as the long time running franchise is said to be in movie development. This is one of the greatest news that the Coalition Studio announced earlier this week.

Coalition Studio Chief Director Rod Fergusson announced that the game "Gear of War" movie is currently in currently in development. It was announced during the "Gear of War" 4 live stream last Wednesday.

According to the Forbes, Microsoft and Universal Pictures have joined together to make the "Gear of War" film to a reality. The "Gear of War" franchise is an exclusive game published by Microsoft and is only available on Xbox game console.

Reports show that Microsoft and Universal Pictures will opt to create a news story for the upcoming "Gear of War" movie. They will be incorporating the concepts, characters as well as the plot of the original "Gear of War" game to create a different storyline.

Rod Fergusson said in an interview that making a movie out of a video game is very different due to the fact that games adapted into a movie had a different audience. Fergusson cited that making a movie using the game's story itself won't make it the best movie, so they tend to recreate something new for the "Gear of War" movie.

On the other hand, the Business Insider highlighted about the worse truth about the films that were made out of a video game. It was stated that most of the movie adaptations of a video game failed to become a blockbuster. Streetfighter, Double Dragon and Super Mario Brothers just to name a few, are some examples of a movie adaptation that almost hit the ground due to several negative reviews.

With the current technology, the Microsoft and Universal Pictures might now able to turn the table for the "Gear of War" film. Xbox fans might now be thinking or even guessing what would be the storyline of the upcoming Gears of War movie.
