Will Georges St-Pierre Return In UFC 206 To Fight Anderson Silva?

After Anderson Silva's son posted a picture on his Instagram showing his father, Anderson "the spider" Silva, and former Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre together with the caption "Christmas month will be exciting," rumors of a fight between the two former champions started to spread the internet.

According to Fightline, UFC and St-Pierre are still under talks of a possible comeback, and the post by Anderson Silva's Son added more heat into rumors of a possible super-fight by the end of the year. And UFC 206 in Toronto, Canada will the event it would take place.

However, UFC President Dana White discredited the Anderson Silva-Geroges St-Pierre rumors during a recent interview according to punditarena, saying that Georges St-Pierre may no longer be genuinely interested in fighting anymore.

"I'm telling you again, I don't think GSP wants to fight," punditarena cites Dana White. "GSP wasn't crazy about fighting when he was fighting. Now, three years later, he's just dying to fight? He's not. I don't think he is. That fight is definitely not going to happen."

But despite White's strong statement against the possible-super fight, rumors are still going around given White's strategy of denying big rumors to put UFC fans and reporters off from a huge surprise in the Octagon.

St-Pierre has expressed his willingness to return to the Octagon. According to mmafighting last August, the St-Pierre is eyeing a match in UFC 206 and that his agents are working on it and news will come out soon of hi possible return.

Georges St-Pierre left the MMA scene late 2013 after citing personal and professional reasons as his main reason for getting out of the sport but kept the opportunity to return alive. In 2014, he announced that he had a torn left ACL and needed surgery, which delayed his return.
