Tom Clancy’s ‘The Division’ [LATEST UPDATES]: ‘The Division 2’ Coming In 2017? Ubisoft Fails To Expand Original Story Concept Despite Endgame Development

Following the widespread criticisms that plagued Tom Clancy's "The Division" in recent months, Ubisoft has been so determined to improve the game, which is considered one of the game's developer most successful title to date. Unfortunately, some game experts pointed out that Ubisoft has missed out to improve one particular area - to expand its original story concept.

According to Paul Tassi of Forbes, Tom Clancy's "The Division" has never expanded its "excellent story" but they did build up the game's "endgame" content. However, Tassi pointed out the game's strength was its "original concept" so it is expected that the game developer should use it as an advantage and developed it first.

Tassi also added that Tom Clancy's "The Division" may be the only game of its genre that didn't feature a story expansion, stressing its unusual for game like "The Division." Rather than investing to build its original story concept, Ubisoft decided to shift its focus and boost the game's endgame content.

The lack of good story or structured plots in Tom Clancy's "The Division," however, seem to be making some gamers leave the game. But in spite of the flaws in "The Division," the game has been foreseen to retain its popularity following its initial sales records.

With that said, Tassi also hinted the possibility for a Tom Clancy's "The Division 2" release, which he believes will be launched in 2017 or after two years from now. With the potential release of "The Division 2," Forbes' gaming news contributor emphasized the need for Ubisoft to focus on expanding its story and not just concentrate on boosting its endgame content.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft has yet to announce Tom Clancy's "The Division" 1.4 patch official release date. But previous reports have hinted an October 2016 release but no other further details have been revealed.

The latest reports on Tom Clancy's "The Division" latest patch came after the game's Public Test Server (PTS) week 3 patch noted was revealed last week, Attack of the Fanboy noted. As for the comprehensive global PTS patch notes for Tom Clancy's "The Division" 1.4 update, check out Ubisoft Forums.
