Issa Rae Is Getting Great Reviews From Her New Show 'Insecure' [Show Spoilers]

Issa Rae is becoming a new household name to beckon with now that she is on a popular HBO series, Insecure. She started making a name for herself after doing some YouTube film series entitled, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl. Her achievements in the line of film has made quite a buzz in the entertainment world after the pilot of "Insecure" on October 9 on HBO.

But even Insecure has reached mainstream television, it already has won the hearts of many viewers after debuting online back in September 23 through HBO Now and HBO Go. People who have subscriptions on these channels using their streaming device such Roku or Apple TV are the first ones who were impressed by the said series.

According to Vulture, Issa Rae's performance in Insecure is groundbreaking and inspiring. She has the perfect timing for the humor on the story, which made her character stand out. The fun part of her character is that she gets to pull of some bars or rap verses whenever she becomes frustrated. 'Insecure" is about an employee in her early 20s who is experiencing a lot of odd encounters in life.

Lots of people have applauded the 31-year-old actress back in 2013 when she released "The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl." She was even dubbed by Internet critics as the African American version of Lena Dunham. Issa Rae was humbled about that remark saying she doesn't come even close to Dunham's title.

The New York Times made a good review of the pilot of the Insecure. In a nutshell, they said that the writers did a good job in making the whole story revolved around Issa Rae's character. It has also helped Issa Rae become more noticed on the talent that she was born naturally.
