The History Channel will have "Vikings" Season 5 as soon as Season 4 part 2 is done. The midseason that will air this coming November will feature Ragnar Lothbrok and his kids and the possible end of his character.

While "Vikings" Season 4 is coming soon and fans will be able to see Ragnar and his grown up kids now, reports are also indicating that this will be Ragnar Lothbrok played by Travis Fimmel's last season. His children who has also grown up during the season break may not even be the successor once Lothbrok dies because King Alfred the Great is coming, according to Aussie Network News.

However, when "Vikings" Season 4 returns Ivar the Boneless will play an important role in the show. "Ivar the Boneless may be the most famous Viking of all, partly because he's got such a cool name," Creator Michael Hirst said. "But in terms of this show, I knew he was going to be a major character an we got so lucky that we cast a young actor who is absolutely brilliant."

While it seems that Ivar the Boneless will continue the legacy of Ragnar Lothbrok in "Vikings" Season 5. However, news that King Alfred may also end Lothbrok's sons Bjorn and Ivar the Boneless.

After Ragnar Lothbrok's death at the end of "Vikings" Season 4 and at the beginning of "Vikings" Season 5, Ivar the Boneless will ascend the throne instead of Bjorn. But a threat looms on them as King Alfred the Great or King Wessex will end the Vikings.

If History Channel follows history, the coming of King Alfred on "Vikings" Season 5 would end the Viking invasion which would also mean that Ivar the Boneless, Bjorn and the Great Heathen Army would be finally defeated.

"Vikings" Season 4 part 2 will be back on November 30 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on History Channel.
