‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Latest Update, News: Ian Somerhalder Does Not Want Nina Dobrev With Damon, Stefan?

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 star Ian Somerhalder says Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) should not be with Damon or Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). Despite anticipation that "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will require Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev to give Damon Salvatore and Elena Gilbert one more chance, the "TVD" star says it's not right.

Although Nina Dobrev left "The Vampire Diaries" series after Season 6, Elena Gilbert in a spell-induced coma lent hope that Ian Somerhalder would someday see Damon Salvatore happy as Parent Herald cites. However, "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 may not be the happy reunion that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev fans hope for.

Ian Somerhalder himself says no to seeing Nina Dobrev take Elena Gilbert back to either Damon Salvatore or his brother Stefan in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. Capital FM reports that according to Ian Somerhalder, the anticipated reunion for Damon Salvatore or Stefan and Elena Gilbert in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is unfair to the character Nina Dobrev plays.

Ian Somerhalder points out that Elena Gilbert is too good for both Damon Salvatore and Stefan. "The Vampire Diaries" fans know well the suffering that Damon Salvatore and Stefan individually and jointly caused Elena Gilbert in the past.

As Ian Somerhalder highlights, Nina Dobrev had to take Elena Gilbert through serial misfortunes in "The Vampire Diaries" since crossing paths with Stefan and Damon Salvatore. To be sure, Ian Somerhalder seemed highly bemused by enthusiasm from "TVD" fans to see Nina Dobrev take Elena Gilbert back into the arms of either Stefan or Damon Salvatore.

"These guys have ruined her life, yet everybody wants her to end up with one of them," Ian Somerhalder said. Interestingly, Ian Somerhalder revealed his hope that Mystic Falls would be rid of "The Vampire Diaries" characters that brought threat and destruction to the humans in it.

Not only does Ian Somerhalder disagree with seeing Nina Dobrev reunite Elena Gilbert with either Stefan or Damon Salvatore. Obviously no fan of seeing the plot go beyond "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, Ian Somerhalder also hopes that Stefan and Damon Salvatore would just remove their rings and disappear altogether.
