‘Pokémon Sun and Moon’ Updates, Release Date & News: Alolan Grimer As Dark-Type; Jangmo-o, The First Dragon/Fighting-Type Revealed

More details about "Pokémon Sun and Moon" are rolling out as the game approaches its release date. The latest leaked information involves a first look at the Alolan version of Grimer, which will have the Dark-type label in the game.

The October issue of Japanese magazine CoroCoro leaked the first look at Alola Grimer, though the monster's abilities and evolution aren't revealed yet. Grimer will be the fourth Poison and Dark-type Pokémon following the Drapion and Skuntank line, Serebii reported.

Check out Grimer's Alola version below. It's speculated that Grimer's evolution, Muk, in "Pokémon Sun and Moon" will also have an Alola form just like Meowth and its evolution, Persian, iDigitalTimes noted.

According to Serebii, this month's CoroCoro issue also revealed that Jangmo-o will be the first to evolve into a Dragon/Fighting-type Pokémon in "Pokémon Sun and Moon." Type: Null, meanwhile, will use the ability called AR System to evolve into Shiruvadi, which is capable of changing its typing based on the hold item.

Jangmo-o is expected to be a pseudo-legendary of "Pokémon Sun and Moon." According to the Chinese Riddler (as translated by 4Chan), Jangmo-o's line will have three stages similar to other pseudo-legendaries.

Two new mysterious Z-Moves will be introduced in "Pokémon Sun and Moon." Those moves are Neverending Nightmare (a Ghost-type Z-Move) and All-Out Pummeling (a Fighting-type Z-Move), according to a separate report from iDigitalTimes. There are claims that every attack type in the game would have a Z-Move and certain Pokemon such as Snorlax would have species-specific attacks.

"Pokémon Sun and Moon" will have boss battles and a stronger item collection. The Hawaii-inspired world of the game also means that the characters, Pokémon, and the environment look more colorful, more animated, and livelier.

"Pokémon Sun and Moon" bears similarities with "Pokémon GO" but it also introduces changes that will make the game a fresh experience for Pokémon fans. In "Pokémon Sun and Moon," players aren't bound to grid-based movement and they now have the freedom to walk around in every direction.

Nintendo recently provided screenshots from the game that showcased the female and male trainers, battles, and the first Totem boss. Check the images out on GameSpot.

"Pokémon Sun and Moon" will be released on Nov. 18 on the Nintendo 3DS. A special demo with Ash-Greninja will roll out on Oct. 18.
