Ronda Rousey Makes UFC Return, Will Challenge Amanda Nunes for Title.

Arguably the best female mixed martial artist in the world, Ronda Rousey, will make her return to the UFC Octagon after being away for almost a year from the sport. The former women's bantamweight champion is set to reclaim her belt as she takes on Amanda Nunes at UFC 207.

Ronda Rousey was the former pound for pound queen of the UFC's women's division, with her Olympic level Judo and killer armbar, she swept through the competition, which included some of the best female fighters in the world at 135 pounds.

Rousey eventually went up against former boxing champ Holly Holm, which resulted in her first ever professional loss, by knockout, no less. Since then, Rousey has not made any public appearances, choosing to keep her privacy for months, which led many to believe that the former UFC superstar has retired.

Now, Rousey has the opportunity to redeem herself and reclaim her former championship belt, as she will finally return to mixed martial arts, and will fight in the UFC's year-ender event on December 30, in Las Vegas. UFC President, Dana White, made the announcement via Twitter, along with a short promo teaser for UFC 207.

This will also be the first title defense for current champion Amanda Nunes, who won the belt after defeating Meisha Tate at UFC 200. The fierce Brazillian, Nunes, will have her hands full when she takes on Rousey, who was the longest reigning women's champion in the UFC, holding the title for 3 years before her first loss, according to BBC Sport.

Rousey, who is now 29 years old, is still ranked as the top female fighter in the world despite being out of action since November 2015, and now she has her eyes set on cementing her rank as the world's best with a win at UFC 207.

The rest of the fights on the main card was not yet released by the UFC.
