Amazon Music Unlimited or Spotify: Which Is The Better Music Streaming Service?

Amazon Music Unlimited is Amazon's brand new music streaming service, joining the game that has been dominated by Spotify over the years. Now the question is, is the new Amazon music streamer really worth getting, or should users stick to Spotify for their tunes?

The first thing that potential users of the Amazon Music Unlimited ask is that, what does the Amazon music service have in store that they can't already get from Spotify? With Spotify, users have access to over 30 million songs in over 60 countries, including a pretty friendly interface that allows those with the app to listen to curated playlists that fit every mood for only $9.99 a month.

Amazon Music Unlimited offers almost all of those things, but what's different is the price tag. The starting price for non-Prime members is also at $9.99 a month, but if you're already a Prime member, then the price goes down to $7.99 a month, and it gets even lower for Prime members with an Amazon Echo device, who will only have to pay $3.99, according to PC Magazine.

While getting the Amazon Music Unlimited seems like a pretty solid deal considering the price, you would have to go through the Prime membership, and actually get the Echo device if you want the low monthly fee. Users would still have to shell out a bit of money first before they could get the $3.99 plan, unlike Spotify's premium membership where you would only need to make one payment, then have all of its services.

Unlike Spotify, Amazon Music Unlimited still has a few limitations, as it is currently available to only a few platforms such as Alexa, iOS, Android, Mac, PC, Sonos, Fire TV and Fire OS, compared to Spotify, which is readily available on almost any platform. Still, Amazon Music Unlimited offers a few good deals, especially with its family package, where up to six accounts can have unlimited access for only $149 a year, according to CNET.

Would you get the new Amazon Music Unlimited service or stick to Spotify for your music streaming needs?
