Google Pixel XL Replaces Nexus, Is It A Good Move?; Did Googl Make A Wise Choice?

Google has replaced their Nexus line and is coming up with Google Pixel XL. This is considered to be the biggest shift in Google's smartphone since 2010.

According to Techspot, Google Pixel XL is the first time Google is challenging the market launching a product that they created. Their former line using Nexus phones has been positioned to target the price sensitive consumers to enjoy the benefits of using an Android device.

Google Pixel XL is considered to be different because it is designed to have unique features on its own and is considered more expensive than the previous ones launched. Google Pixel XL was designed to be at par or to even rival that of Apple's iPhones or Samsung's Galaxies.

Google Pixel is available in two different sizes. One model comes in 5 inches and the other in 5.5 inches. There are minor differences in the resolution and capacity between the two models however the hardware is just the same.

Both Google Pixel models come in Snapdragon 821 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 12.3-megapixel rear camera and 32 or 128GB of storage. Google Pixel XL is also designed to standout compared to the former releases. Google Pixel XL comes with exclusive functionality as Google Assistant and runs on Android 7.1 which has never been used from the Nexus phones.

As shared by Engadget, it is reported that HTC is responsible for assembling the phones however, it is Google who is in total charge of design and and development of Google Pixel from end-to-end. Google Pixel XL is considered a powerful device but doesn't fair well in terms of design.

Google Pixel XL also comes in a little steep in terms of the pricing. The Google Pixel XL starts at $769 US for the 32GB model. The question remains, is it worth it to buy the new Google Pixel XL? The answer only discerning smartphone enthusiasts can answer. Google Pixel XL is available for purchase on Oct. 20, 2016.
