Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Specs & Features: Next Galaxy Smartphone Comes With A Digital Home Button And 4K Resolution?

With the recent scandal involving Samsung with their worldwide release of Samsung Galaxy Note 7, many users are wondering if they can recover again. The Samsung Galaxy S8's release may be Samsung's chance to regain their reputation.

According to Forbes, Samsung plans to announce the introduction of Samsung Galaxy S8 device on Feb. 26, 2017 which is a day ahead of Korea World Congress. Samsung is already in the process of placing component orders for Samsung Galaxy S8.

Some of the speculated features of Samsung Galaxy S8 includes having Edge-To-Edge Display with the absence of a physical home button. Samsung is planning to remove the Home button from the bottom of Samsung S8 to make way for a digital Home button.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is also believed to have 4K resolution screen which translates to 3840 x 2160 pixels) which makes it ultra sharp compared to other mobile devices. This also makes Samsung Galaxy S8 compatible with next generation mobile VR (Virtual Reality). Such advancement would create a detailed and immersive virtual reality experience while using Gear VR.

The camera is known to produce DSLR-like photos. For Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung may use their own components together with a third-party partnership to produce more megapixels and brighter lenses. It is still not known though if Samsung is using all-in-one dual cameras or separated dual cameras.

To add to the report, The Inquirer shared that Samsung Galaxy S8 will also include a powerful Samsung 10nm Exynos chip known to give the device faster response and longer battery life.

Samsung Galaxy S8 may also include fingerprint sensor and iris scanner. The iris scanner is worth mentioning as not many users have been introduced to this kind of technology. IF Samsung Galaxy S8 indeed comes with the iris scanner, it is indeed a step up in terms of security and privacy of one's mobile device. It will also run on Android 7.0 Nougat.
