The Cleveland Indians Are Back After A 19-Year Hiatus! Baseball Championship Next After Winning Its First NBA Title?

The Cleveland Indians now have another chance to reclaim championship status as they are going to back the World Series after dismantling the Toronto Blue Jays with a 3-0 win. Learn the details here.

The Indian's woes seemed like a dry spell as they last won the World Series when they defeated the Boston Braves back at 1948. With three more appearances after, they did not seem lucky as they fell against New York Giants, Atlanta Braves and Florida Marlins during the years 1954, 1995 and 1997.

After being silent for nearly two decades, they now have a chance to bring back the trophy to the city. They endured a best-of-seven American League Championship Series by winning four games to one against the Blue Jays.

The win left the players and its fans with tearful joys and gave the city of Cleveland something to look forward to. The Indian's first-base coach, Sandy Alomar Jr., emotionally said, "The city is starving for this. The baseball team, we've been so close, and we haven't gotten the trophy. We'll keep pushing hard to do it," based on a New York Times report.

Just last July, the city of Cleveland got its prayers answered as they got their first trophy in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers beating the Golden State Warriors. This time, all eyes are now set for the World Series.

Most valuable player, Andrew Miller excitingly said, "I can't wait to see what it's like in Cleveland." He then adds, "Obviously, they got a taste of the basketball championship... It's going to be a lot of fun."

First game of the World Series will happen on Oct. 25, 2016, Tuesday. This will be the same night when the Cleveland Cavaliers raise their championship banner as they face the New York Knicks at the Quicken Loans Arena.
