Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer Launches Today: Rockstar Confirmed The Much Awaited Release

After a lot of speculation and rumors, it is finally official: Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption is having a sequel or a possible prequel to be released on the Fall of 2017. Rockstar Games broadcast the big announcement through social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter. The video game company released the game's announcement trailer today.

Rockstar Games ended the debate about whether they were working on Red Dead Redemption 2 or Grand Theft Auto 6 when they released the teaser photo for the former on Tuesday. The confirmation described the upcoming game to be "an epic tale of life in America's unforgiving heartland. The game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience."

The announcement also indicated the supported platforms: the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One.

Fans are excited especially because of the success of the first game which shipped over 14 million copies worldwide since its release in May 2010.

The announcement trailer released today, exhibits the game's visually impressive and vast environment which featured immense wildlife. In one shot, a herd of buffaloes can be seen roaming, in another a raccoon is depicted devouring a smaller animal.

Multiplayer

Rockstar Games parent company Take-two has registered the domain name "redead.online.com" as confirmed by Twitter user Bill Wright. When entered, the domain currently redirects to a Rockstar Newswire post flashing the teaser image above.

Without a doubt, Grand Theft Auto 5's most successful component is its online feature. In April, it was publicized that GTA Online has generated more than $500 million in revenue. Fans can look forward to a similar experience with Red Dead 2's online aspect.

Previously, Rockstar Games' CEO Stauss Zelnick told investors to consider Red Dead Redemption as a "permanent" franchise like Grand Theft Auto.
