Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner Divorce 2015: Did The 'Batman V Superman' Star Cheat on Wife?

Days following the announcement of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner of their mutual decision to end their marriage, speculations regarding alleged infidelity on the part of the "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" star began to crop up, according to Us Weekly.

Multiple media outlets cited the years of partying, drinking and gambling of Affleck as the potential causes of the split of one of Hollywood's most adorable couples. However, rumors are now pointing at another possible reason - a third part. Us Weekly quotes a source allegedly close to the spouses who claim that the Batman actor "admitted to cheating" and "developing serious feelings" with a co-star in one of his recent films.

Soon after the cheating rumors came out, some friends of the couple vehemently denied the accusations. "Ben did not cheat on Jen," a source clarified to Us Weekly. Meanwhile, Affleck also took it upon himself to slam the speculations and clear his name. In relation to the identity of the alleged party, Yahoo revealed that the actress the Batman star supposedly cheated with is Margot Robbie. She and Affleck have been reported to work together in "Suicide Squad."

This piece of information, however, was immediately refuted by Affleck and his co-stars in the said film. "Ben barely spent any time with Margot," an unnamed source revealed in the report, further strengthening the claim of the actor regarding the inaccuracy of the cheating rumors. Affleck and Robbie filmed with the rest of the crew of "Suicide Squad" in Toronto, Canada earlier this year.

According to the Us Weekly report, Garner had been trying to break off the marriage for quite some time now. "She tried to leave him a few times, but he would beg her to stay," the insider revealed. "She always fought against the urge to throw her hands up in the air and walk away," added the source. Despite the difficulties, Garner reportedly attempted to endure the suffering for the sake of her three kids, Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3. The insider shared, "They've been on the brink of splitting up many times before, but it's Jennifer's worst nightmare for their children. Her biggest desire has always been to keep the family together."

Although the two eventually decided to file for a divorce, it looks like Garner remains true to her word and still continued to look out for the welfare of her kids. With the consequences of this decision, close friends of the actress describe her efforts to handle the situation as "unbelievable," according to People.
